Their menu is long and full of non-coffee drinks (there's only so much you can do with coffee) which doesn't give me a great indication that they are that serious about coffee. While I like Alchemist for the vibe and seating selection, I find their coffee to be a bit lackluster. You just might need to bring your own thermos of coffee and something to eat. Summary: Alchemist excels in providing a great location to get away from the house and enjoy some coffee. It's a little ridiculous, but hey, if you like cinnamon rolls, this is the place for you! Don't get me wrong, it goes great with a cup of coffee or ice cream, but on it's own, it's a touch dry for me.Īnd, I've never had one of their infamous cinnamon buns, but I have seen them, and they are HUGE.like they could pass for a small cake. I haven't ordered anything from their food menu, but they're gluten free brownies are a bit on the cakey side for me. I haven't tried their mocha or cacao, but that's next on my list. Most of their Chai's are usually pretty good, and they know how to make a butterscotch bourbon latte. It's either not enough flavoring or a bit over the top (ahem, the fireball). I applaud it.they come up with some really inventive flavor combinations, but they can also be a little hit or miss for me. They're trying to use real foods, natural sweeteners (dates, etc) in their coffees. I've been here a few times, and I like where it's going. I think they really struggle to keep up with it, but it's not like being busy is a bad thing. This place is ALWAYS crawling with people! So busy, always a line.
